A Letter from the WACUBO President

Strategic Chief Financial Officer
New Mexico State University

When I took over as WACUBO president in early May 2020, I would not have thought the world would still be dealing with the pandemic 18 months later. It’s been my honor to be president during this time, albeit quite different than expected.

WACUBO, as an organization, has fared very well. We pivoted quickly from offering in-person professional development to offering remote options, including 11 Happy Hours, two Business Management Institutes, the Business Partner Web Series, the Leadership Series, the Mentoring Program, our focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion; and our most incredible annual meeting yet with more than 3,500 signed up from over 100 institutions. Executive Vice President
Western Colorado University

Hello WACUBO colleagues!

It is an honor to serve you as president of this amazing, impactful organization. First off, I’d like to personally thank and recognize Ruth Johnston for the tremendous leadership she has provided. Not only did she assume the presidency on the front end of a pandemic, but she has served in this capacity for a year and a half, more than is traditionally the case. She has led with such grace and thoughtfulness, and has helped forge new, innovative thinking in how we deliver our mission. She has been a wonderful mentor of mine and I am grateful to have had the chance to work with her over the past few years. Thank you Ruth!
