Terms, Conditions, and Policies

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations received by Tuesday, October 22, 2024, will be refunded, less a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Substitutions can be made at any time. If you have any questions, please contact the office at [email protected].

 

Nonpayment Policy:

I understand that full payment of the web series registration fees is required before the start of the first workshop. If full payment has not been remitted on or before Tuesday, October 22, 2024, the meeting details will not be sent to the attendee. Once payment has been received, meeting details will be released. Technical Failure Policy:

I understand that if there is a technical failure at the registrant's home or workplace that prevents access to the live event, the registrant is not eligible for a refund. It is the responsibility of the registrant to confirm system requirements and test their computers prior to the start of the event. If a technical failure is the fault of the service provider and the session is not able to be broadcast as planned after two hours, WACUBO reserves the right to reschedule the session. If the registrant cannot attend the rescheduled session live, they will be provided with the recording after the session's conclusion, or they may request a prorated refund.

 

Recording Acknowledgement:

I understand that each virtual session may be recorded, including chat transcripts. Video recorded during the event may be used for promotional purposes, advertising, and other print and online materials at the sole discretion of WACUBO. All registered attendees must consent to this if they plan to attend the live sessions.

Description

Get beyond the basics of accounting and reporting and expand your knowledge and effectiveness as a leader in higher education accounting and reporting. This workshop offers the attendee a solid review of the theoretical framework of higher education accounting and reporting. Operational, investing, and financing activities of the institution are reviewed – along with the impact of these activities on the financial statements. Additional information on analyzing and interpreting financial statements will be provided, along with excellent networking opportunities with fellow colleagues throughout the WACUBO region

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session participants will:

  • Understand the purpose of fund accounting systems and its relevance in today’s reporting formats
  • Explain differences between operating and non-operating activities
  • Analyze recognition issues pertaining to revenue and expenses
  • Recognize relevant laws and account standard that govern endowments, gifts, and restrictions
  • Identify differences between financing capital and operating activities
  • Identify the basic financial statements and information included in financial reports
