Terms, Conditions, and Policies

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations received by Monday, April 5, 2021 will be refunded, less a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after Monday, April 5, 2021. Substitutions can be made at any time. If you have any questions, please contact the office at [email protected].

Nonpayment Policy:

I understand that full payment of the web series registration fees is required before the start of the first workshop. If full payment has not been remitted on or before April 5, 2021 the meeting details will not be sent to the attendee. Once payment has been received, meeting details will be released. Technical Failure Policy:

I understand that if there is a technical failure at the registrant's home or workplace that prevents access to the live event, the registrant is not eligible for a refund. It is the responsibility of the registrant to confirm system requirements and test their computers prior to the start of the event. If a technical failure is the fault of the service provider and the session is not able to be broadcast as planned after two hours, WACUBO reserves the right to reschedule the session. If the registrant cannot attend the rescheduled session live, they will be provided with the recording after the session's conclusion, or they may request a prorated refund.

Recording Acknowledgement:

I understand that each virtual session may be recorded, including chat transcripts. Video recorded during the event may be used for promotional purposes, advertising, and other print and online materials at the sole discretion of WACUBO. All registered attendees must consent to this if they plan to attend the live sessions.

Code of Conduct:

WACUBO events are community events intended for education, networking, and collaboration. We value the participation of everyone and want all attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Accordingly, all attendees are expected to show respect and courtesy to other attendees throughout all events hosted in the WACUBO space. To make clear what is expected, all attendees, speakers, Business Partners, organizers, and volunteers at any virtual event are required to conform to the following Code of Conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event. In registering for and/or participating in this event, you consent to comply with the following Code of Conduct. 

Examples of encouraged behavior that contributes to a positive environment include:

  • Using welcoming and inclusive language
  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
  • Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
  • Focusing on what is best for everyone at the event
  • Showing empathy towards other participants

We do not tolerate the following:

  • Spam (verbally or in chats), including saying or re-posting the same word/content repeatedly in order to disrupt the conversation
  • Harassment, bullying, and intimidation
  • Harassment and bullying are defined as:
    • Negative comments about race/ethnicity, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, physical appearance, citizenship, or other protected categories
    • Intimidation or threats, including sharing images or text especially to threaten
    • Unwelcome sexual attention, including sharing images or text especially to sexually harass
    • Threatening or other endangerment of minors or any persons
    • Any activity meant to convey or cultivate hostility
    • Ad hominem insults or other attacks
    • Encouraging the above behavior

Scholarship Opportunities

WACUBO offers professional development scholarships to employees of WACUBO member institutions. These scholarships will go toward all or a portion of the registration fees of an annual conference, professional development workshop, or other WACUBO sponsored professional development programs

Scholarships DO NOT cover other expenses (e.g. travel, incidentals, etc.).

Description

Explore how to have coaching conversations built on a foundation of trust, powerful questions, and effective communication - whether in a remote work setting or in-person. Participate in several interactive exercises designed to build coaching conversation skills, practice asking powerful questions and listening to understand, and create an action plan for further learning. Discover how to develop your coach approach and make it a habit that drives employee performance, professional development, and engagement. 

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session participants will:

  • Compare the role of “coach” to other roles (e.g., mentor, advisor)
  • Discuss what it takes to create a trusted relationship
  • Practice using “powerful questions” to create coaching conversations people want
  • Discover how the coach approach engages employees and facilitates their performance and professional development
  • Create an action plan for further development
